New drug screening tool reduces need for animal testing.

A team of scientists from IBN Singapore after finding an effective way of producing human kidney cells from stem cells, has developed the first animal-free screening platform that is capable of accurately producing the toxic effects of compounds on the kidney.

IBN Singapore describe how they developed the platform using human induced pluripotent stem cells IPSCs and machine learning methods, as well as predicting toxicity.
